“You think you know the electric slide, don’t you?” she told the audience.
Bryant stated that she and three costars should coordinate their movements, but she had a problem with her costume so the others perfected the dance first. By the time Bryant was ready to study, she was alone with the choreographer and her brain was shut down in an “intimate, raw, nightmarish panic,” she recalled.
Bryant said she thought she knew the dance moves of weddings and parties by heart but forgot everything.
“It was the most intimate, roughest, nightmarish panic I’ve ever felt in my entire life,” she said. “All of a sudden I found myself thinking, ‘What is a grapevine? What is a little shaky?’ I am like a raw horror and look this man in the eyes. “
She says the raw panic stayed with her.
“Solo Electric Slide?” She laughed. “It’ll cool you to the damn bones.”
Bryant said it took 10 runs, but in the end she did it.
“I survived,” she quipped. “It looked great in front of the camera.”
