(CNN) – Two guests on board the Celebrity Millennium tested positive for Covid-19 during the required tests at the end of the cruise, the cruise company said in a press release on Thursday.
The two positive guests who shared a cabin on the ship are asymptomatic and are now in isolation while being monitored by a medical team, the statement said.
“We are conducting contact tracing, speeding up the tests for all close contacts and monitoring the situation closely,” the press release said.
The ship sails “with fully vaccinated crew and guests, and follows comprehensive protocols that are consistent with our target partners and exceed CDC guidelines to protect the health and safety of our guests,” the press release said.
The 7-day cruise from St. Maarten includes port stops in Barbados, Aruba and Curacao.
All guests had to present a vaccination certificate and a negative Covid-19 test within 72 hours of St. Maarten on Saturday, the message said.
“This situation shows that our strict health and safety protocols help protect our crew, our guests and the communities we visit,” the press release said.
Details of the Covid-19 vaccinations of the two passengers are not known.
“Every measured step has been taken to protect the health and safety of our guests, crew and residents of this cherished destination, and we are grateful,” read the post.
