When asked to comment, Bell attorneys told CNN, “All facts will be revealed in the courtroom. There is currently no additional comment. “
A 15-year-old child in the case reported to her local police department in Canada in October 2018 about an alleged incident that had taken place at a Cleveland nightclub the previous year, according to a statement from the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office.
Canadian authorities contacted the Cleveland Division of Police, which is conducting an investigation, the statement said. That investigation revealed that the victim, who had developed a relationship with Bell several years earlier, attended his concert in December 2017. During the concert, Bell is said to “violate his duty of care and thereby endanger the victim,” said the prosecutor. Bell also reportedly sent the victim inappropriate social media messages, according to investigators.
Bell left a $ 2,500 bond and was released from Cuyahoga County Jail. His first pre-trial hearing is scheduled for June 23rd.
