It’s a bird, it’s an airplane, it’s a … flying phallus? Moment The mayoral candidate of New Mexico is interrupted in the election campaign by SEX TOY on a drone and then hit in the arm
- Albuquerque, New Mexico, Tuesday’s election rally for mayoral candidate Manuel Gonzalez was interrupted by a drone with an attached sex toy
- Kaelen Dreyer, 20, then allegedly called Gonzalez a “tyrant” and slapped him in the arm, resulting in a battery arrest and defying officials’ charges
- Gonzalez is the sheriff of Bernalillo County and is a tough candidate for crime
Political campaigning can be an unpredictable affair, as a New Mexico mayoral candidate learned firsthand this week when his blunt speech was interrupted by a flying drone with a sex toy attached and a man beating him.
The campaign of sheriff Manuel Gonzales III. of Bernalillo County said the Democrat was unharmed in Tuesday’s scuffle and was “not intimidated”.
A video posted on Facebook shows Gonzales answering questions from an audience of about 70 people, including children, while standing on a stage at the Revel Entertainment Center when the aerial device began to hum with the dark phallic toy near the stage .

‘Is that advertising on a drone?’ From the off you can hear a woman say who causes laughter.
Gonzalez also comments on the inappropriateness of the presentation, saying, “We have a gentleman here who I guess is trying to be cute.”
A Sheriff’s Office report obtained from the Albuquerque Journal said that the owner of the convention center snapped the device out of thin air, and at the same moment 20-year-old Kaelan Dreyer made a failed attempt to grab it.
Dreyer then turned his attention to Gonzales, brandishing his fist, and calling him a “tyrant”. One MP wrote that Dreyer punched Gonzales in the arm and was then removed from the venue by MPs.
Gonzalez then continued answering questions, unimpressed by the blow.

Gonzales, who is a tough candidate for crime, said at a press conference Wednesday that he believed Dreyer was with several companions and saw someone on the other side of a fence who he believes was flying the drone.
“It was so distracting from the sound and everything that I couldn’t really convey,” said Gonzales.
Dreyer has been charged with minor offenses and with an offense that resists, evades, or hinders an officer.
According to a MP for the report, Dreyer said he did not intend to hit Gonzales but was upset with the way Gonzales answered a question and intended to wipe his fist in the air.
Dreyer (left and right) reportedly punched Gonzalez in the arm and was then arrested on charges of minor administrative offense and resistance, evasion or obstruction of an officer
Gonzalez, who is a tough candidate for crime, said he would not be intimidated
Gonzales suggested Wednesday that the drone stunt may have been broadcast by incumbent Mayor Tim Keller’s rival campaign, also a Democrat.
Keller’s campaign condemned the drone prank as “disruptive, impolite and immature” and denied any involvement.
“To say we’re behind this is pathetic and the kind of desperation that characterizes Manny’s troubled campaign,” said Keller campaign manager Neri Holguin.
Dreyer, who describes himself as a “banjo playing cowboy hipster” on Facebook, denied to the Albuquerque Journal that he worked for Keller’s campaign and said he was not a fan of the incumbent either. He declined to comment.
