Your eye was sewn shut for 10 days and it will take up to a year to completely heal.
Kelsey said, “It was at the girl’s apartment and this was the first time I met her. The living room was empty except for a lashing bed in the middle of the room.
“I lay down to start and I could hear the dog barking in her room. This chihuahua runs in and jumps on the bed. I start caressing him, everything is fine.
“At some point she’ll finish her eyelashes and I’ll sit up. The dog is sitting on the floor, I look down at him and he just stares at me.
“Then he jumped out of nowhere – it went so fast that I didn’t have time to pull back – bit my face and broke my eyelid off.”

Kelsey’s eyelid was reattached but remained bruised and dark as she heals from the procedure
The sales rep said there was blood “everywhere” and her “eyelid was on the floor”.
She added, “I’m so happy he didn’t reach for my actual eye because it could have been a thousand times worse.
“I screamed my eyes out, she gave me a dirty blanket from the floor to stop my bleeding. She calls the ambulance; I’m calling my mom to meet me at the hospital.
“When I got to the hospital, I had to wait seven hours. There were no plastic eye surgeons at this hospital.
Kelsey said the doctors were “new territory” when they tried to reattach her eyelid because none of them had ever seen a full one fall off before
She was eventually transferred to another hospital before having an operation on May 29, which took two hours
“My paramedics wrapped my eyelid in gauze and put it on ice. The nurse firmly believed that nothing could be done. ‘

“You were in uncharted territory. They were hopeful, but the odds were against me.
Your eyelid will take up to a year to fully heal and is currently sewn with dissolvable sutures, meaning it should open up at some point
Kelsey had been hoping to make a trip to Hawaii to celebrate her birthday, which was given the go-ahead as her surgery went better than expected
“I now take antibiotic drops four times a day and apply a prescription gel four times a day – just to keep it moist.
“They wanted my eye to breathe during the day, but at night I wear a metal eye patch with holes in it.
“At the moment my eye is sewn with dissolvable threads. It should open up at some point. ‘
She said the doctors were “shocked” that her eye was healed because the procedure “shouldn’t have worked”.

She added, “But even while I was on vacation, my home surgeon advised me to see a doctor. She found the eyelid looked super dark.
While on vacation in Hawaii, Kelsey’s doctors told her to see a surgeon when she got home because they believed her eye was very dark. They thought it might have carnivorous bacteria
The sales rep said there was blood “all over” and her “eyelid was on the floor” after she was attacked
“This doctor thought I had carnivorous bacteria that were very harmful. When he saw me, he told me I was fine, but I was given an oral antibiotic for seven days just in case. ‘
In addition to the physical discomfort, Kelsey has to grapple with the judgment of others – both online and in real life.
Kelsey said, “I had no problem flying to Hawaii other than everyone staring at me.
“I felt like a freak. So much has happened to me on my travels that I’m finished. ”

She went to TikTok to show pictures of her injury and said she couldn’t close her eye. She is now getting migraines and eye pain because she can only look out of one eye
She added, “I get mostly positive comments on TikTok, but there are still a lot of negative people out there. There are different types of negative people.
“There are people who say, ‘I don’t want to see this, don’t film this,’ while others just make fun of the way I look and joke.
“A lot of people assumed that I provoked the dog by kicking him in the face. Many people asked about the dog. How about me Why don’t you ask how I am? ‘
In the video, Kelsey showed pictures of her injury and said, “I can’t even close my eye. Now it’s sewn up for ten days. ‘
Kelsey said, “It’s hard to see this happening to anyone else, and I don’t want it to happen to anyone.
“Because I look out of one eye, I get eye pain. I get migraines, I still don’t dare to drive. There are many little things – your eye affects a lot.
“I just want people not to take their eyelids for granted. It really sucks not having one. I would also advise people not to go to anyone for eyelashes or nails. Always go to a reputable salon.
“This experience made me look at dogs differently. I have dogs of my own and I don’t see them any differently because I know they wouldn’t attack me by accident.
“But I hesitate with everyone else’s dogs. Dogs are very unpredictable, I can see that now and am therefore very careful. ”
