Tottenham was left red in the face after their brand new trading partner Dulux taunted them on Twitter just minutes after a deal was announced Thursday morning.
The club in north London took to Twitter to proudly reveal that the British paint company has become their official supplier, only for Dulux’s official Twitter account to mercilessly poke fun at the lack of trophies among fans soon after.
In a tweet that has since been deleted, Dulux responded to a fan joke about keeping paint cans in the club’s trophy room because Spurs “doesn’t seem to put anything else in it.”

However, Dulux’s official Twitter account soon mocked the club’s lack of cutlery
Dulux responded shortly thereafter and posted a picture of an empty glass case with the Spurs badge on it. He claimed the “unused trophy cabinet” was “for sale”.
Another fan suggested “painting the dusty trophy cabinet” to which Dulux replied again: “Don’t be silly, surfaces should be dust-free before painting.”
Fans began to engage in the joke and asked again if Dulux’s legendary Old English Sheepdog mascot could play in central defense. Dulux replied, “He could do a better job [than some of the defenders]. ‘

A fan asked if the brand’s iconic dog could play in the middle, to which Dulux replied that he could probably do “a better job” than some of the club’s current players
Shortly after mocking their new trading partners, Dulux deleted the offensive tweets and saw that their relationship with the Premier League side was off to the worst start.
It’s an embarrassing story for Tottenham, who haven’t won cutlery in over 13 years. The last trophy came in 2008 when they beat Chelsea to win the Carling Cup.
Star players were also on the club’s meager run in connection with the move away from White Hart Lane. Harry Kane has been linked to leaving Spurs in case they fail to win the Carabao Cup this month or qualify for the Champions League at the end of the season.
