Marty Sheargold’s Blacklist: Triple M Host Reveals TV Personalities BANNED From His Radio Show
He’s the out-and-out radio host who recently hopped off Nova FM’s drive show to host his own breakfast program for Triple M Melbourne.
And Marty Sheargold doesn’t strike when it comes to the guests he leaves on the air, revealing on Monday that certain Australian TV personalities are blacklisted.
The 49-year-old comedian told News.com.au that he banned reality stars from appearing on the Marty Sheargold Show and said they were just “filler” content.

He said, “I will never do that. For me this is filling and lazy. ‘
Sheargold said some breakfast radio hosts devote long sections to interviewing reality TV stars simply because they are desperate for content.
‘[When] You’re giving someone from Married At First Sight half an hour of your show because you don’t want to do half an hour of your show, ”he said.
Sorry MAFS brides! The 49-year-old comedian told News.com.au that he banned reality stars from appearing on the Marty Sheargold Show and said they were just “filler” content
He said the result is usually “terrible” radio and offends the listener.
Sheargold probably made the right decision by avoiding reality stars, as its audience at Triple M turns to Gen-Xers and Boomers who tend not to see shows like The Bachelor and Married At First Sight.
However, this was not the case during his previous role as a presenter on Nova FM’s Kate, Tim, and Marty Drive Show, where he routinely chatted with Bachelor and MAFS candidates.

Sheargold hinted during his interview with News.com.au that his time at the more youth-focused Nova wasn’t always creatively fulfilling.
“I don’t have to talk about Justin Bieber anymore, which is good,” he said, referring to his move to Triple M in December.
Reality stars appear regularly on subway and regional breakfast radio programs as part of their contractual advertising obligations.

While this can sometimes lead to boring interviews unwrapping of what viewers saw on TV the night before, Sheargold wrongly says that they are always “terrible.”
The Kyle and Jackie O Show regularly broadcasts headline interviews with MAFS stars and once got Bryce Ruthven live on the air by calling a woman he had a one-night stand with years ago when he was with his ex Wife engaged was engaged.
The Marty Sheargold Show airs weekdays from 6am to 9pm on Triple M Melbourne.
